Original Members of South Bronx Re-Unite for First Time in "Ages".
I'Four of the five original members of the funky,"ole' school" r&b/rap group"South Bronx", have joined forces for the first time in more than two decades. Although they have always touch, it seemed like no more than two of the members were able to participate in any projects at the same point in time. Working with other major artists, pursuing film and television endeavors, as well as dealing with personal challeges all
contributed to the haitus.
Well, it seems as though their reunion is right on cue. Turmoil within the inner-cities of America, particularly between law enforcement and the community, is the precise recipe for a South Bronx tune... a tune like "Hands Up Y"all. South Bronx really is back!
One More Single is Slated to be Released Later this Year on Widespread Digital Markets
In a rapidly-evolving music market, some artists are choosing to approach the business in a "retro" sort of way: releasing singles long before an album is due to be completed. Just when it seemed as though singles were nothing more than a distant memory...Behold!
In an effort to not overdo it with this new industry trend, South Bronx has decided to release just one more single single (after "Hands Up Y'all"), before an album is tackled. Many industry professionals point out that the introduction of digital singles on the internet harmed album sales dramatically. This is why South Bronx is being conscientious about its planned release strategy.
Indeed, by all accounts, album sales have steadily declined since the early 2000s, when the digital singles were introduced. Since then, less and less recording artists have reached olatinum status with their albums. This is one of the reasons why the recording industry is encourageing artists to think in terms of creating complete, cohesive projects, rather than individual tunes with very little in common. All of the members of South Bronx agree... "We've got to look at the big picture".
